Susan Nienow's weekly column is appreciated Dear Editor, I came to Midlothian as a short time visitor from India. I am a regular reader of your weekly Chesterfield Observer and in particular the "Loose Ends" [column] by Susan Nienow. I was immensely impressed by the way she handles the topic with apt words. Her soft satire with tactile touch is well brought out in the phrases "a rat to live a healthy and prosperous life" and "dog's royal taste" in the article, "Will eating brussels sprouts make me a better person?" [Oct. 31] and "the other half's unsolicited suggestion" in the article, "Finding my talents" [Aug. 8]. Also, in "Standards of success" [Nov. 7], the way she dwelt on the subject "cleaning" was really awesome. I appreciate her continued efforts to continue in the weeks to come. My Thanksgiving wishes to you and to your contributing writer, Susan Nienow. Naganathan Midlothian |
