Salvation Army Christmas Center celebrates grand opening

The Salvation Army held its annual Christmas Center grand opening last week, marking the beginning of the Richmond Area Command's distribution of toys, clothing, bikes, books and other items to those in need this holiday season. This year's center is located at 7210 Midlothian Tnpk. in the former Sears store at Cloverleaf Mall.

Approximately 6,500 families, 14,000 children and 900 seniors and/or special needs individuals will be served this year through one or more of the Salvation Army's Christmas Assistance Programs. On any given distribution day, more than 50 clients will be served every 15 minutes at the center.
