Vandals set off extinguishers in Chalkley Elementary

Unknown person(s) entered Chalkley Elementary School in the 3300 block of Turner Road between 9 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on Feb. 3, but police don't know how they gained entry. Once inside, they set off four extinguishers, vandalizing the interior. Two of the extinguishers were found outside the school building.

In other reported crimes:

Ayshire Court. The elderly victim answered the door of her residence at Tanglewood Apartments at 11:10 p.m. on Feb. 4, and two suspects pushed their way in asking for her nephew. The nephew gave up his money when the suspect with the handgun and knife threatened the elderly woman.

Courthouse Road. The victim left her 1999 white Dodge disabled on Feb. 5 near the Food Lion. When she returned, the vehicle was gone.

Den Bark Drive. The victim ran out of gas and left his 1997 Infinity in the 8400 block on Feb. 4. When he returned later that afternoon, the vehicle was gone.

East Hundred Road. Catalytic converters were stolen from a 1994 Ford Ranger and a 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 parked in the 2300 block on Jan. 30-31.

Gardengate Road. Someone stuffed oily rags in a mailbox in the 12100 block on Feb. 3 at about 3 a.m. and set it on fire.

Harrowgate Market Place. The suspect entered the store in the 16000 block of Harrowgate Road on Feb. 2 at 12:23 p.m. Holding what was believed to be a fake gun, the suspect demanded money. The suspect ran off when the clerk threatened him by raising a wine bottle over his head.

Hunt Master Drive. An unknown suspect attempted to kick in the front door of a Hunter's Chase Apartment in the 5300 block at 1 p.m. on Jan. 31. Police believe the suspect was scared off when the complainant heard the noise and opened the door.

Meadowburm Drive. The victim was walking home at 2 a.m. on Feb. 3 in the 6400 block when he was confronted by two suspects who demanded money. The victim ran off and later discovered he had been cut by one of the suspects.

Meadowdale Boulevard. The victims were in their Regency Lake apartment at 6:40 p.m. on Feb. 5 when they heard a loud noise and discovered three suspects had kicked in the front door. The suspects took off after being seen.
