Kindergarten registration
      From 9 a.m.-7 p.m. on Apr. 17, Chesterfield County families may register their children for kindergarten or apply for a limited number of prekindergarten spots for the 2008-09 school year. To attend Chesterfield County Public Schools, children must reside in the county with a parent or legal guardian.

Stalking 101
      Stalking arrests show up on the police department's daily crime log all too often. In 2007, there were 53 males and 10 females arrested for stalking in Chesterfield County. Often, these arrests were in tandem with other domestic violence-related charges.

FIRST Robotics Competition
     Robotics teams from Midlothian, L.C. Bird, James River and Cosby high schools recently competed in the FIRST Robotics Competition at Virginia Commonwealth University's Siegel Center. County students from Maggie L. Walker Governor's School also competed. Midlothian won the Underwriters Laboratory Industrial Safety Award. Student transfers could relieve Thomas Dale High School overcrowding
      Chesterfield County Public Schools (CCPS) is unlikely to make any major changes to alleviate overcrowding at Thomas Dale High School (TDHS) for next year. Last September, CCPS reported that TDHS was 525 students (27 percent) over its functional capacity and handling that overload with 13 trailers as temporary classrooms.
