James River Regional Cleanup, 9 a.m.-1 p.m., selected sites along the James River including Dutch Gap Boat Landing, Robious Landing and Falling Creek Iron Works. Volunteers on foot and in boats dedicate part of the day to collect litter from the shoreline and water. Introduction to Touring Kayaking, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Dutch Gap Conservation Area, 513 Coxendale Road. This class is designed to teach the basics of flat-water kayaking, including entries, exits, strokes, safety and equipment.
