Second NTelos store robbed

CRIME WATCH

It was a case of déjà vu for NTelos late last month when yet another location was robbed by suspects using the same MO.

On June 24, a customer entered the NTelos store in the 7100 block of Hull Street Road and spoke briefly with an employee about a phone plan. He then revealed a gun and demanded money. A second customer, who had been sitting in the store's lobby, suddenly became a lookout for the gun-toting robber.

Having been told there was no money in the store's safe, the armed suspect forced the employee to the office and stole the night deposit money. He then took the employee's cell phone and locked him in the store's bathroom. Both suspects left the store.

The robbery was similar to the June 21 armed robbery of NTelos' Bermuda Crossing shopping center location, and police believe the suspects, two black males, may be responsible for both crimes. They are also suspected of robbing check-cashing stores in Colonial Heights and Dinwiddie County.

Anyone with information about any of these crimes should call county police at 748-1251 or Crime Solvers at 748-0660.
