Woman assaulted as she walked to friend's house
A woman was in the 10500 block of Ridgerun Road, walking to a friend's house at about 8:45 p.m. on July 27, when she noticed a car carrying three people following her. The people in the car began yelling at her, and she yelled back at them. Two men got out of the car, pulling guns on her. One of them grabbed her by the neck, and then stole money and electronics from her. They got back into the car and drove away. The two men are described as black and 25- 30 years old. The woman is white and 20-30 years old. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about this crime should call police at 748-1251 or Crime Solvers at 748-0660. In other crimes: Barnack Road. A power meter was stolen from the back of a house under construction in the 3000 block sometime between 4 p.m. on July 23 and noon on July 25. Beach Road. Just after 2:30 a.m. on July 25, someone broke a window at Crump's Store in the 14300 block, reached in and stole food. Ferintosh Lane. Between midnight on July 22 and 5:20 p.m. on July 29, someone broke into a locked shed at a home in the 5900 block and stole property. A resident of the home later found a shop-vac behind the shed that didn't belong to him. Green Oaks Court. On July 27 just after 4:30 a.m., shots were fired into a residence in the 3400 block. Handel Court. At about 6:20 p.m. on July 26, someone knocked on the door of an apartment in the 5600 block at the Lantern Ridge Apartments. When a resident answered, the man forced his way in, stealing cash from both people in the apartment before leaving. Hiller Drive. Between 3 p.m. on July 8 and 9:30 p.m. on July 29, someone broke into a truck parked in the 14000 block at Greenleigh Mobile Home Park and stole firearms. Hull Street Road. At about 8 p.m. on July 29, a witness in the 11300 block at the Styles Bi-Rite noticed someone taking money from a drink machine. The witness confronted the man, who said he worked for Coke and had a key. The man quickly left the area. • The tailgate was removed from a pickup truck in the 18700 block at 360 Auto Sales sometime between 2 p.m. on July 26 and 4 p.m. on July 28. Johnston Willis Drive. Between 5 p.m. on July 25 and 10 a.m. on July 26, several cars in the Virginia Air Distributors and Sheehy Municipal Sales parking lots in the 600 block were vandalized with paint. Some of the cars' gas caps were removed. A bucket of gasoline and rags soaked with gasoline were found near those cars with removed gas caps. Lancers Boulevard. Between 4:20 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on July 28, someone broke out the glass in the rear doors of two townhomes in the 3000 block at the Amber Leaves Apartments and stole money, jewelry and electronics from both homes. Otterdale Road. Between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. on July 27, someone kicked open the rear door of the American Legion Post 186 building in the 900 block. Nothing was taken. Price Club Boulevard. At about 9:15 a.m. on July 25, while waiting for a ride in the 3600 block, a man was beaten by several people who stole electronics from him, and then sped away in a car driven by a woman. Regatta Pointe Road. Between 11:30 p.m. on July 23 and 12:30 a.m. on July 24, several plastic bottles containing an explosive mixture blew up in the mailbox of a residence in the 14200 block, damaging the mailbox. Rose Family Drive. Sometime between 9 p.m. on July 28 and 10 a.m. on July 29, someone broke into the Watermill Recreation Center in the 2100 block and stole money and other property. Ruthers Road. At about 12:40 p.m. on July 29, two people were seen entering a home in the 100 block through an unlocked side window, and then leaving a short time later carrying two duffel bags. Property was stolen from the home. Savoy Road. Between 5 p.m. on July 28 and 7 a.m. on July 29, someone broke into Greenfi eld Elementary School in the 10700 block. An interior door was kicked open and an outside shed door was pried open. It appears nothing was stolen. |
