Gang prevention and awareness seminar for seniors, 9 a.m.-noon, Eanes-Pittman Public Safety Training Center, 6610 Public Safety Way. This class, taught by staff from the Chesterfield County Sheriff's Office and the Chesterfield County Police Department, will cover basic ways for seniors to identify gang members in their communities by examining graffiti, clothing and actions that are associated with certain gangs. Use a map and compass to complete your course of choice, either on land or on water in a canoe or kayak. Families are welcome to participate. Beginner paddling and compass instruction will be offered to those with no previous experience. Compasses and personal flotation devices will be provided. Maps, $5 each.
