hhgregg replaces Circuit City in Hancock Village A new electronics and appliance store to Virginia will replace the Circuit City store originally scheduled to open at Hancock Village on Hull Street Road across from Woodlake. hhgregg will occupy 30,000 square feet, according to developer Doug Horack. hhgregg has 100 locations in the Southeast and Midwest and 10 more planned, including three in the Richmond market. Many of its stores are in small and medium markets, but the company also has locations in Raleigh, Orlando and Cleveland, with corporate headquarters in Indianapolis. The family-owned business started in 1955 and includes a 110 percent low price guarantee on its merchandise. Hancock Village was previously scheduled to open next month. However, it's been pushed back to next summer when an upscale super Wal-Mart with 197,356 square feet is scheduled to open. A JCPenney store with 103,525 square feet is set to open in March 2010. Other tenants will include Dick's Sporting Goods, Bed Bath & Beyond and other retailers and restaurants. |
