Woman assaulted checking on neighbor's home

CRIME WATCH

Sometimes it's risky to be helpful. A couple living in the 4400 block of Southernbelle Lane in the Glen Tara subdivision recently found that out the hard way.

The female victim stepped onto her porch around 11 p.m. on Sept. 2 after hearing a commotion next door and discovered a black man trying to break into her neighbor's home. She asked him what he was doing. The suspect then walked onto her porch and punched her before walking into her home through the unlocked door. Once inside, he assaulted a male victim before fleeing the area.

Anyone with information about this crime should call police at 748-1251 or Crime Solvers at 748-0660, or text the code tip699 with the tip and send to 274637 (CRIMES).
