More apartment robberies

CRIME WATCH

Crimes of a similar nature have been happening at apartment complexes throughout the county. Three more have recently been added to the list.

At about 10:30 p.m. on Sept. 12, two victims were walking in the 6400 block of Statute Street in the Courthouse Green Apartments when a black man approached them and asked them to pull out their pockets. The suspect stole cash from one of the victims, then walked away.

Also on Sept. 12, at about 10 p.m., a man was sitting outside his apartment in the 6400 block of Cosmic Road in the Regency Lake Apartments when three black men got out of their white vehicle, ran up to the man and demanded his money. One of the suspects was armed with a small, black pistol. The man handed over his wallet, and the three suspects ran back to the vehicle, which was being driven by a fourth black man. They drove away from the scene.

A couple of days later, on Sept. 14, at about 12:45 a.m., two people were standing outside in the 6900 block of Amster Road in the Cloverleaf Lake Apartments when their suspicions were aroused by a Jeep Cherokee that drove by them several times. Eventually, three black males got out of the SUV, each wielding a pistol, and ordered the victims to put their hands in the air and lay on the ground. The suspects held guns to the victims' heads while rummaging through their pants' pockets, taking their cash. The suspects then told the victims to walk away and not look back. The suspects got back into the Jeep and drove away.

Anyone with information about any of these crimes should call police at 748-1251 or Crime Solvers at 748-0660, or text the code tip699 with the tip and send to 274637 (CRIMES).
