Breast cancer events for October and beyond

Spring Arbor Fall Fashion Show, 3 p.m., Spring Arbor of Salisbury, 14001 Turnberry Lane. Spring Arbor, Buford Road Pharmacy and Coldwater Creek join forces. Thursday, Oct. 23

Think Pink: Early Detection is the Best Protection, 7-9 p.m., St. Francis Medical Center, Orvieto/Florence rooms, 13710 St. Francis Blvd. Get the facts on early detection, screening and diagnosis. Look Good…Feel Better, 6:30-8:30 p.m., Hawthorne Cancer Resource Center, 1459 Johnston-Willis Dr. This two-hour, hands-on group workshop includes a 12-step skin care and makeup program with demonstrations on how to use wigs, turbans, scarves and hats to help women cope with the appearance-related side effects of cancer treatment. This eighth-annual songwriting workshop will feature local cancer survivors led by singer/songwriter Tricia Walker and special musical guest Bill Sinclair.
