Wilderness survival adventures

Virginia State Parks presents Wilderness Survival Adventures at Pocahontas State Park's Heritage Amphitheater on Saturday, Oct. 18, from 10 a.m-8 p.m. Naturalist Vickie Shufer will show essential techniques to survive being lost in the wilderness from building basic shelters to starting a fire in the rain. See examples of Native American tools made from common natural materials and take in demonstrations of making rope, shelters, baskets and tools.
