No easy listening for this stereo's owner Two robbers had to face the music earlier this month when they attempted to hold up another man working on his car's stereo. The two strangers approached the victim as he was inside his vehicle repairing the equipment at about 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 1. One of them struck the victim in his mouth with the butt of a shotgun and demanded his money. The victim grabbed a knife he happened to have with him and stabbed the assailant. Both suspects, described as two black males, ran to a green Toyota, which was being driven by a white female. The car sped away. In other crimes: Bailey Bridge Road. Between 3:45 p.m. on Sept. 26 and 8 a.m. on Sept. 29, someone entered a classroom trailer at Crenshaw Elementary School in the 11900 block and took a flat-screen computer monitor. There were no signs of forced entry. Foxglove Road. Sometime between 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 5 and 9:15 a.m. on Oct. 6, someone siphoned gas from a locked SUV parked at a residence in the 2800 block. Hampton Park Circle. Between 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 5 and midnight that evening, someone vandalized the exterior of a home and mailbox in the 15800 block. A car inside an open garage at the same residence was also vandalized. Jefferson Davis Highway. At about 1:40 p.m. on Sept. 29, a man went to his upstairs apartment to get money to pay cab fare and was assaulted by several people on his way back out of the building. The suspects, whom he knew, stole his money. Lancers Boulevard. Sometime between 8 p.m. on Oct. 3 and noon on Oct. 4, someone siphoned gas from a car parked in the 3000 block at Amber Leaves Apartments. Lorimer Road. Between 11:45 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 4, someone broke into a home in the 15100 block through a side window and stole money, jewelry and electronics. Marina Drive. At about 10:30 p.m. on Oct. 6, a man heard a knock at his apartment door in the 2300 block and opened it slightly. The stranger at the door pushed his way into the apartment and demanded the resident's money. When the victim said he didn't have any, the suspect went into the bedroom, grabbed the victim's cell phone and left the apartment. Oak Lake Boulevard. Sometime between 5 p.m. on Oct. 3 and 11 a.m. on Oct. 4, someone broke a glass entry door to get into Aireco Supply in the 2900 block and stole the cash drawer from the register. Old Hundred Road. Between 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 30 and 6:15 a.m. on Oct. 1, someone broke into Chester Hair Care in the 4400 block by breaking glass panes out of the front door and took cash from the register and coins from a back room. Pocono Drive. Between midnight on Aug. 12 and 11:45 p.m. on Oct. 4, someone broke into a residence in the 400 block through a side window and stole clothing, household goods and electronics. Providence Creek Road. Between 3:30 a.m. and 7:10 p.m. on Sept. 30, someone broke into a home in the 2300 block and stole electronics. Pyper's Pointe Drive. Sometime between 10 a.m. on Oct. 3 and 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 5, someone stole a bag containing six cymbals from an SUV parked in the 15300 block. The vehicle's owner was unsure whether the vehicle was locked, but there were no signs of forced entry. Southernbelle Court. Between 1 p.m. and 3:45 p.m. on Oct. 1, someone broke into a residence in the 12100 block through the front door and stole some jewelry while leaving other valuables alone. Timbercrest Court. Between 5 p.m. on Oct. 5 and 8 a.m. on Oct. 6, someone took Freon from an exterior air conditioning unit at a residence in the 2900 block. W. Hundred Road. Sometime between 2 p.m. on Oct. 3 and 8 a.m. on Oct. 6, someone climbed through a window to get into a classroom trailer at Thomas Dale High School in the 3600 block and sprayed a fire extinguisher all over the room.
