James River Girls Volleyball aims for state tournament
      The coach is a stand-up comedian who plans to move to Los Angeles in February to pursue his dream of making it "big." One of the team's best players is a 6-foot, 1-inch freshman from Anaheim, Calif., who relocated to the county after her father took a job with a bakery. High-flying offense helps Cavaliers light up scoreboard
      When Sean O'Hare watched Blake De- Christopher and Julian Bowers receive their high school diplomas in June 2007, he felt the winds of change blow through Clover Hill High School's football program. DeChristopher, an all-state tackle, had anchored a massive offensive line that paved the way for Bowers to score 42 rushing touchdowns in his final two seasons.

Corrections
      In the Oct. 1 issue, we reported James River High School's game with George Wythe was postponed from Friday, Sept. 26, until Monday, Sept 29. The game was played Friday with James River winning 19-0. The Rapids record was 1-1 in district, 1-3 overall after the win.
