Student enrollment at schools growing more slowly
      Chesterfield County Public Schools (CCPS) bucked its growth trend for the second year in a row, adding only 156 new students this year, according to the latest enrollment numbers submitted to the Virginia Department of Education.

Loose Ends
      This party thing has me baffled. The invitation said birthday celebration. In the first place, no one with any sense celebrates birthdays after the first 40 or 50. But ok, if she really wants to, I'll go. I can't call our friends and ask if it is a surprise party. What if they weren't invited? The invitation didn't say it was a surprise party, and it's not anymore.

Cemeteries tell the stories of the past
      While some may think of graveyards as spooky, they actually hold a wealth of information. The Chesterfield Historical Society is dedicated to documenting as much of that history as possible. Recently Rachel Lipowicz, chairman of the society's cemetery committee, spoke about the county's cemeteries to a full house at Magnolia Grange.
