Free homeownership classes Interested in becoming a homeowner, but not sure where to begin? The Virginia Housing Development Authority (VHDA) and local nonprofits will offer free homeownership education classes during November. The classes cover topics that include credit issues, personal finances, home inspections and the role of lenders and real estate agents. To be eligible for VHDA loans, borrowers must complete a VHDA homeownership class. All sessions are free and take place on Saturday, Nov. 15. • 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m., Oak Forest Baptist Church, 5101 Courthouse Road.
