Beware of party crashers
The party was over for a county man when he was the victim of a carjacking as he left a gathering in the 20900 block of Third Ave on Nov. 8. The victim was backing out of the party host's driveway with several friends in his car at about 2 a.m. when five armed suspects stopped him. The suspects told all the car's occupants to empty their pockets, then ordered them to get out of the car. Once the victims were out, the suspects jumped into the black, four-door, 2000 Mercedes Benz and sped away with money and electronics in addition to the car. At about 11:15 p.m. on Nov. 4, someone removed a door from a house under construction in the 21100 block. Gates Mill Road. At about 12:20 a.m. on Nov. 10, a masked suspect pointed a handgun at a man's chest as he was getting into his truck after leaving a friend's house in the 14900 block. The suspect stole the victim's cash, then fled on foot. Grove Hill Road. At about 4 p.m. on Nov. 9, a man exposed himself to a victim in the 13800 block. Hull Street Road. Between 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 7 and 8:45 a.m. on Nov. 9, someone entered a classroom trailer at Manchester Middle School in the 7400 block through a previously damaged door. The intruder rummaged through the trailer, but nothing was taken. • At about 1:45 p.m. on Oct. 6, several suspects broke into the YMCA in the 7500 block and stole electronics. Krause Road. Between 8 p.m. on Nov. 7 and 8 a.m. on Nov. 8, someone kicked open the side door of a residence in the 9500 block and stole property. The intruder also broke into an exterior shed and took items. Laurel Wood Road. Sometime between noon on Nov. 7 and 7:40 p.m. on Nov. 9, someone broke into a residence in the 3900 block and stole guns and other property. Midlothian Turnpike. At about 8:40 p.m. on Nov. 6, masked suspects, one armed with a long rifle or shotgun, entered the Wendy's restaurant in the 11200 block and stole cash from the register, then fled toward the Target store in the shopping center behind the restaurant. Montour Drive. Sometime between 8 p.m. on Nov. 6 and 5:30 a.m. on Nov. 7, someone stole a GPS unit from a car parked at a residence in the 400 block. Nash Road. Between 6:15 p.m. on Nov. 6 and 10:45 a.m. on Nov. 7, someone stole generators from the garage area of a residence under construction. N. Enon Church Road. Sometime between 2 p.m. on Aug. 22 and 10:30 a.m. on Nov. 6, someone stole laptop computers from a warehouse belonging to Future Technologies in the 13100 block. Pool Road. Between 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 7 and 11:35 a.m. on Nov. 9, someone broke into the Sunrise Five Apartments leasing office in the 700 block and stole change from a candy dispenser and cash from the manager's office. River Road. Between 10:30 p.m. on Nov. 3 and 1 p.m. on Nov. 4, someone broke into the Water's Edge Grill in the 8600 block by removing a screen from a side window of the restaurant's office. Once inside, the intruder rummaged through a desk drawer, taking the cash register key. The burglar stole money, consumable goods and other property. Walker Avenue. Sometime between 8 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 8, someone damaged two rear doors of a home in the 19500 block while breaking in. Jewelry and electronics were stolen. Compiled by Gwen Sadler |
