Man refuses robber

A man was beaten recently when he refused to give up his cash to a couple of muggers.

The victim was walking in the 9600 block of Jefferson Davis Highway at about 2:10 a.m. on Nov. 15 when two suspects demanded his money. After he refused to give it to them, they hit him several times, took his wallet and cell phone from his pockets, and fled the area in an older grey truck.

One of the suspects is black and one is white. They are both males, 28-32 years old.

In other crimes:

Blossomwood Circle. At about 11:40 p.m. on Nov. 14, someone shot into an occupied residence in the 5100 block. No one was injured in the incident.

Buttermint Drive. Between midnight and 6:30 a.m. on Nov. 12, someone broke into a residence in the 8600 block and stole money, guns, electronics and other property.

Centralia Road. Sometime between 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 9 and 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 12, someone broke into Salem Baptist Church in the 5900 block and stole consumable goods.

Commonwealth Parkway. Between 12:15 a.m. and 6 a.m. on Nov. 14, someone broke into Spinnakers in the 5000 block and stole money and liquor.

Echoway Road. At about 3:15 p.m. on Oct. 21, someone stole clothing from a county school bus parked in the 3800 block.

Gunfight Trail. Sometime between 7 p.m. on Nov. 12 and 5:10 p.m. on Nov. 13, someone pried open a rear window of a home in the 5800 block and stole guns, jewelry and other property.

Harrowgate Road. Between 4 p.m. on Nov. 9 and 7 a.m. on Nov. 10, someone entered Harrowgate Elementary School in the 15500 block through an unlocked window and stole consumable goods, jewelry, electronics and other property.

Huguenot Road. At about 4:25 p.m. on Nov. 14, a woman was pumping gas at a station in the 1000 block when she noticed a man exposing himself nearby.

James River Road. Sometime between 7:10 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. on Nov. 13, someone stole electronics from an unlocked SUV parked at James River High School in the 3700 block.

Jefferson Davis Highway. Between 5 p.m. on Nov. 17 and 4 a.m. on Nov. 18, someone stole a white 2005 Ford van from the Port Walthall Shopping Center in the 15700 block.

Nottinghill Drive. Between 10:45 p.m. and 11:25 p.m. on Nov. 17, two suspects mugged a woman walking toward an apartment in the South Pointe Landing complex in the 5800 block, stealing her purse before fleeing on foot.

Third Avenue. A man was driving his red 1997 Jeep in the 20900 block with a friend in the passenger seat at about 7 p.m. on Nov. 17 when three suspects flagged them down. The Jeep's driver pulled over, spoke with one of the suspects for a few minutes and allowed him to borrow his cell phone. Two of the suspects then pulled out guns and ordered the victim and his friend from the car and stole their cash and the Jeep.
