Deposit turns dangerous

Two Jersey Mike's employees recently learned how dangerous making after-hours bank deposits can be. When the two pulled their vehicle up to the night-deposit drawer at the Village Bank branch in the Midlothian Station Shopping Center at about 10:20 p.m. on Dec. 7 to make a deposit for the sandwich shop, a man suddenly appeared beside the driver's window. The man pointed his gun at the head of the driver and motioned for him to hand over the bank bag. The suspect then fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. The thief is described as a black male, 20- 30 years old and six feet tall. Between 11 p.m. on Dec. 7 and 7 a.m. on Dec. 8, someone placed a water hose through a small hole in a building in the 7700 block at the Roxbury Square Apartments, turned on the hose and flooded a maintenance shop. The year decals were also removed from two work vans parked there. Berrybrook Drive. At about 3:15 a.m. on Nov. 30, someone fired shots into a home in the 4100 block. Shots were also fired into a car parked at the residence. Chattanooga Plaza. Between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Dec. 8, someone removed a bag from a woman's purse, which was in a shopping cart, while she was at Payless Shoes in the 12200 block. Corcoran Place. Between midnight on Dec. 6 and 1:30 a.m. on Dec. 10, a victim received threatening phone calls from various unknown phone numbers. During one call, the suspect threatened to blow up the victim's residence in the 8700 block. Dulwich Drive. Between midnight on Nov. 23 and midnight on Nov. 24, someone broke all the windows out of a vehicle parked in the 3100 block and stole money from inside. Marina Drive. At about 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 8, two armed suspects held guns to a man's head outside his apartment in the 2500 block at the Falling Creek Apartments and demanded his money. When the victim told them he had no cash, the suspects rifled through his pockets. At that point, the victim's cousin witnessed the scene and yelled that he was calling the police. The suspects ran away. Nighthawk Court. At about 7:50 a.m. on Dec. 8, someone stole money from an unlocked vehicle, which was warming up in the driveway of a residence in the 5000 block. Smoketree Court. Between 9 p.m. on Nov. 24 and 6 a.m. on Nov. 26, someone stole a handgun from a vehicle parked at a residence in the 500 block. Sunrise Bluff Road. Between 6 p.m. on Dec. 7 and 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 8, someone stole a work vehicle from outside a residence in the 13800 block. It had been left unlocked with the keys in the ignition. Sunrise Five Way. Between 7:30 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. on Dec. 9, someone pushed a clothes hanger through the top of the front door of a residence in the 700 block at the Sunrise Apartments to disengage the locks and stole checks from inside. Village Mill Drive. At about 9 p.m. on Dec. 6, someone tripped the alarm at Pediatric and Adolescent Health Partners in the 13800 block while trying to break in through a window. Apparently, the alarm scared the suspect(s) away. W. Hundred Road. Between 1:30 p.m. and 3:15 p.m. on Dec. 5, someone stole a purse from a Chesterfield County school bus, which was parked at Thomas Dale High School in the 3600 block. |
