Virginia Dance Festival planned for Jan. 26 The Ninth Annual Virginia Dance Festival to benefit the Children's Hospital Foundation of Richmond will be held at James River High School on Sat., Jan. 26, with shows at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Since this event began nine years ago it has generated over $85,000 for the Children's Hospital Foundation. There will be a silent auction in the lobby of James River High School during both shows. The Virginia Dance Festival is hosted by Jessica Morgan School of Dance. Jessica Morgan coordinates the event each year by gathering dance troupes throughout Virginia to showcase their separate dance styles and talents to benefit the foundation. The performances will consist of tap, hip-hop, jazz, ballet, classical Indian, Irish, ballroom, musical theater, American Indian dances and more. More than 30 dance organizations and over 300 dancers will perform in this year's festival. Tickets are $10 for adults (ages 12 and up) and $8 for children (ages 3-11). For those interested in attending both shows the price will be discounted to $15 for adults and $12 for children. These tickets can only be purchased at the door, and all proceeds will go to Children's Hospital Foundation. For information about the event, becoming a sponsor or donating items, call Jessica Morgan at 739-7600. |
