Richmond Animal League plans free Spay-Neuter Day The Richmond Animal League (RAL) will provide free spay and neuter surgeries to area cats and dogs on Mar. 9 aboard the "Spay-Neuter Scooter" at its shelter, located at 11401 International Dr. behind the Ukrop's near Chesterfield Towne Center. Pet owners interested in having their animals fixed should contact RAL to make an appointment. Space is limited. Animals older than 12 weeks must have current rabies and distemper vaccinations. Puppies must have their distemper vaccination, weigh at least 2 pounds and be at least 8 weeks old (all male cats must be 12 weeks old). All animals must be in good health. No feral animals will be accepted. To reserve a spot for your animal, please contact the RAL at 379-0046 ext. 11 or email Pam@ral.org. Local veterinarians and licensed technicians are donating their time for this endeavor. RAL will incur expenses for medical supplies used for the surgeries and will accept donations to help cover the costs associated with Spay-Neuter Day. Community members may donate online at www.ral.org to the Spay-Neuter Fund or by mailing a donation to Richmond Animal League, 11401 International Dr., Richmond, VA 23236. |
