There were 11 misconduct cases pending against Colin Charles Connelly of Connelly & Associates in Chesterfield, including failing to keep adequate trust account records, failing to adequately account for client funds and failing to disclose conflicts of interest to clients. Connelly consented to the revocation of his license, acknowledging the material facts in each case were true. The license of Marc James Small of Chester was also revoked. Small admitted that he failed to explain his fee to a client and failed to protect another client's interests upon termination of a representation. Woman dies when hit by train An Ettrick woman was killed on Feb. 24 when she was struck by a train in the 3500 block of South Ettrick Street. According to police, Rebecca J. West, 59, of the 2300 block of Woodpecker Road, was attempting to cross the train tracks shortly after 4:30 p.m. when she was hit by a northbound train. West was transported to Southside Regional Medical Center where she died of her injuries. Winterpock Elementary opens After months of delays, Winterpock Elementary School in Matoaca District finally opened for students earlier this week. Since the beginning of the school year, Winterpock classes have been housed at Spring Run Elementary as contractors finished construction on the new school. Originally, the school was supposed to open in September but was delayed due to titling issues. Police seek murder suspect Police have released a composite sketch of an unidentified man who is wanted in connection with the Nov. 17, 2007, homicide of Marino Reyes Martinez. Martinez, 34, was shot and killed in an apartment in the 7100 block of Wentworth Street. A green sport utility vehicle was seen leaving the parking lot after the shooting. Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding Martinez's death. Anyone with information about this homicide should call the police at 748-1251 or Crime Solvers at 748-0060. |
