Senior classes offered at Bensley Community Center

• Mar. 12, 1-2:15 p.m., "Trends in Travel and Tips to Help You Get the Most Out of Your Traveling Dollars." Sharon Davenport of Signa Tours will speak about the top travel destinations in the United States. She will also offer tips on packing and ideas to make voyages more enjoyable.

• Mar. 19, 1-2:15 p.m., "Storytelling." Jane Crouse will blend music, folktales and puppets to engage the audience in storytelling.

• Mar. 26, 1-2:15 p.m., "Ten Top Nutrition Tips." Kendra Hayes, wellness director at the Chester YMCA, will offer information about getting daily requirements of vitamins, minerals and fiber. She will also discuss portion control and how to use the food pyramid.

• Apr. 2, 1-2:15 p.m., "Civic Engagement: Making Meaningful Connections Through Work and Service." Dede Foerster, director of volunteer services at Bon Secours St. Francis Medical Center, will speak to retirees or those on the brink of retirement about retooling their skills and helping out in their communities.

• Apr. 9, 1-2:15 p.m., "Cardiovascular Disease Awareness." Kathy Jarrell of CJW Medical Center will explain the causes and risks of heart disease. She will give tips on how to switch to a healthier lifestyle to prevent the onset and progression of heart disease.

• Apr. 16, 1-2:15 p.m., "Healthy Cooking." Mary McFadden of Chesterfield County Cooperative Extension will prepare a healthy meal of chicken fruit salad with whole wheat crackers and vegetables with creamy dip.

• Apr. 23, 1-2:15 p.m., "Maintain Your Brain." Bridget Soyars, program and volunteer coordinator with the Alzheimer's Association, will explain what it means to have a healthy brain. Attendees will learn about connections between the brain and heart, common risk factors for heart and brain disease and the benefits of increasing mental activity.
