Prom dresses needed for Cinderella Dreams Project

It's a Cinderella story. You're invited to the big dance, but have nothing to wear. It happens, and not just in fairy tales. This year the Midlothian Junior Woman's Club and Q94 will play Fairy Godmother to girls needing a dress for their special night.

The Cinderella Dreams Project provides prom dresses for area high school girls, lifting the financial burden of parents and teens on a tight budget. Through Apr. 5, gowns and accessories will be collected at metro Richmond YMCAs. Donated gowns should have been purchased no later than 2003, in new or like-new condition, and dry-cleaned. Accessories should be in new or like-new condition.

Girls will be allowed to choose a free dress during a shopping event at the Arch Village Shopping Center on Apr. 11-13.
