How to start recycling

Recycling is one way to conserve the Earth's resources.
The county offers bi-weekly curbside recycling to more than 91,000 single-family homes, allowing residents to conveniently recycle materials such as paper, aluminum, plastic and glass. The service is not available to apartment dwellers, new communities (until there are enough households to warrant adding them to a route) or sparsely populated areas. To find out if curbside recycling is available in your neighborhood, call 340-0900 or go to www.cvwma.com.

The northern area transfer station, located at 3200 Warbro Rd., and the southern one at 6700 Landfill Dr. off Iron Bridge Road, accept glass, aluminum, fiber and plastics from residents who do not have curbside service, as well as others who do not use the curbside service. Many schools also have recycling bins since they use them for fundraising.
