Two arrested for shooting at apartment complex County police have arrested two men in connection with a shooting in the 5900 block of Cricklewood Drive in the South Point Landing Apartments on May 4. No one was injured. Brandon Dean Brown, 20, of the 2800 block of Camberwell Road, is charged with shooting into an occupied dwelling and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. Maurice Lamar Maudlin, 20, of the 1800 block of Fernbrook Drive, is charged with possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute and possession of an illegal narcotic while in possession of a firearm. The victims were leaving their vehicle at 1:50 a.m. when the suspects approached. Fearing they might be robbed, the victims ran to their apartment. Once inside, they looked out through a window and saw at least one suspect carrying a handgun. The victims then heard gunshots and ducked down safely. Police arrived shortly thereafter. In other crime reports: Alcott Road. An unlocked and running blue 2001 Hyundai Elantra was stolen from the 2500 block in the Huntwood Apartments on May 4. Hull Street Road. The victim and his friend pulled up to a stop sign in the 7400 block at 3:45 p.m. on May 2, when the suspect vehicle pulled up behind them and bumped the victim's vehicle. Two of the three suspects exited their vehicle while the driver remained in the car. One suspect struck the victim several times, taking his wallet. The suspect took the money from the victim's wallet and tossed it back to the victim as both suspects got back in their vehicle and drove off. Jefferson Davis Highway. Someone drilled the lock out of a vending machine in the 16000 block on May 1 and took the money that was inside. Meadowdale Boulevard. Someone broke out the back window of a vehicle parked in the 3200 block at the Regency Lake Apartments on May 2 and slashed the front and rear tires. Midlothian Turnpike. A masked and armed suspect entered the Priscilla's store in the 10900 block at 10:55 p.m. on May 2. The staff complied when he demanded they give him the store's money, and he left quickly. Passageway Drive. Unknown suspect(s) entered a residence in the 3800 block on May 1 and stole money, firearms and jewelry. Steven Hurst Drive. Someone entered a Greenleigh Mobile Home residence through the front door earlier this month and ransacked its interior. Nothing was stolen. Westwood Village. A 2000 white Ford van was found completely burned in the 1000 block on May 4. |
