Beginning this fall,
John Tyler Community College (JTCC) students may enroll at the Chester campus, located at 13101 Jefferson Davis Highway, for the first of four classes that will prepare them to take the Cisco CCNA network associate certification exam. Those who earn this certification are trained to install, configure, operate and troubleshoot medium-size routed and switched networks; implement and verify connections to remote sites in a WAN; mitigate security threats; introduce wireless networking concepts and terminology; and use various networking protocols.
This is the first step in JTCC's plan to become a Cisco Networking Academy, a move the community college is taking toward meeting the increasing need for training for IT professionals.
For more information about this course and program, call Dr. Mark Cohen at 594-1491 or e-mail mcohen@jtcc.edu.
