Fort Lee Army Concert Band to perform at Pocahontas State Park

Pocahontas Premieres: Fall into Autumn, Sat., Sept. 6, 5-7 p.m., Pocahontas State Park Heritage Amphitheater, 10301 State Park Road. Bid farewell to the last days of summer with a late afternoon performance by the Fort Lee Army Concert Band. Free; $5 per vehicle parking fee. Food and beverages are available. GED class registration, 10 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., Chesterfield Technical Center, 10101 Courthouse Road. GED (General Educational Development) classes start on Sept. 15. Adults 18 and older who want to earn a GED undergo an assessment, participate in preparation classes, then take tests in reading, writing, social studies, science and mathematics. Preparation classes cost $50; GED students who complete 60 hours of instruction will receive a free testing voucher worth $45.
