Wilderness survival adventures Virginia State Parks presents Wilderness Survival Adventures at Pocahontas State Park's Heritage Amphitheater on Saturday, Oct. 18, from 10 a.m-8 p.m. Naturalist Vickie Shufer will show essential techniques to survive being lost in the wilderness from building basic shelters to starting a fire in the rain. See examples of Native American tools made from common natural materials and take in demonstrations of making rope, shelters, baskets and tools. The park is located at 10301 State Park Road.
