One more reason to kick the habit

Gwen Sadler

A bicycle-riding victim lost all of his belongings, including his mode of transportation, when he tried to give a couple of thugs a cigarette.

The man was riding his bike in the 16400 block of Jefferson Davis Highway at about 10:15 p.m. on Dec. 28 when a vehicle pulled in front of him, making him stop. A suspect inside the car demanded a cigarette. Two suspects got out of the car and, as the man reached into a pocket for his cigarettes, one of the suspects pointed a gun at the bike rider's head while the other suspect took cash and everything else from his pockets. They even stole the guy's bike before fleeing in their car.

The suspects - one black and one white - are both males, 24-25 years old. They were driving a 1980s green Chevy S-10 pickup truck with gray primer-paint spots.
