Purse not worth the pain

Gwen Sadler

A woman was finishing up her shopping trip recently by loading her purchases into the trunk of her car when she learned a lesson about when to let go.

The victim was in the parking lot of the Bermuda Crossroad Shopping Center, located in the 12100 block of Bermuda Crossroad Lane, at about 4 p.m. on Jan. 31 when she felt a tug at her purse, which dropped from her shoulder and slid down her arm. The suspect who'd grabbed the purse hopped into the passenger side of a vehicle driven by a second suspect, pulling the victim in tow and catching the purse in the vehicle's door. The victim grabbed the door handle to try to retrieve her purse and was pulled several feet along the pavement as the suspects drove away, heading north on Jefferson Davis Highway.
