Police investigate incidents at assault-plagued complex
Police are investigating the attempted abduction of a 17-year-old girl on Friday, Feb. 13, at about 6 a.m., in the Roxbury Square apartment complex. The girl wasn't hurt in the incident. According to police, she was approached by a man as she was walking to a school bus stop. The man pointed a gun at her and tried to force her into a wooded area in the 7700 block of Belasco Drive. The girl told him someone was coming to meet her, and the man walked away. She called 9-1-1. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his mid-20s, and standing 5 feet 3 inches tall. He wore a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. Two similar incidents occurred late last year in the same apartment complex. At about 11:15 p.m. on Nov. 14, a man described as a thin Hispanic, 40 years old and 5 feet 8 inches tall, pulled a gun on a woman in her 20s. He forced her into nearby woods, where he raped her. The suspect in this case was wearing jeans and a dark brown jacket. This incident also took place on Belasco Drive. At about 10:10 p.m. on Dec. 17, a suspect showed another 20-something woman a gun, then struck her and ran away. In this incident that happened on Ayshire Court, the suspect is described as a thin Hispanic male, 25-30 years old with a mustache. He wore jeans and a dark blue hooded windbreaker with a silver stripe. Police presence has been increased in this area. Between midnight on Feb. 8 and noon on Feb. 11, someone damaged the coin machines at Midlothian Car Wash in the 3800 block, but didn't steal any money. Canasta Drive. Between 6 p.m. on Feb. 9 and 9 a.m. on Feb. 10, someone got into two unlocked vehicles parked in the driveway of a residence in the 5700 block and stole money, jewelry and other property. Jefferson Davis Highway. At about 8 p.m. on Feb. 11, a witness observed a suspect stealing money from the change machine at Express Car Wash. |
