Smaller county budget approved

For the first time anyone can remember, Chesterfield County will be spending less - a 4.1 percent reduction to $1.23 billion - for the FY10 budget year that begins July 1. Much of the declining revenue was driven by the Chesterfield board's decision not to increase the property tax rate of 95 cents per $100 of assessed value. More...
