Food stamp enrollment is up

Chesterfield County and Colonial Heights will see a combined 35 percent increase in food stamp cases this year, according to projections by the Virginia Department of Social Services. Last year, the county averaged 6,487 cases per month. This year, it anticipates 8,811 cases per month, a forecast based on the first few months of 2009. More...
