Catalytic converters stolen from car lots

Police are investigating 34 catalytic converter thefts from vehicles at two Chester car dealerships that occurred between 9 p.m. on Oct. 17 and 9 a.m. on Oct. 19.

The converters were cut from new Honda Pilots, Elements and Ridgelines and Toyota Tundras and RAV4s at Colonial Honda, 2100 Walthall Center Drive, and Priority Toyota, 2000 Walthall Center Drive. The estimated value of the converters exceeds $80,000.

These same dealerships were targeted on Sept. 13, 2008, when 28 catalytic converters were stolen.

In other crimes:

Belgreen Court. Between 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 14 and 7 a.m. on Oct. 15, someone entered several townhouses currently under construction in the 6100 block and stole copper wire.

Bryanwood Road. A Domino’s Pizza driver arrived at a home in the 3900 block around midnight on Oct. 22 to deliver pizzas. As he approached the two suspects, who said they’d ordered the food, they punched him in the face and sprayed him with mace. The two suspects grabbed the pizza and ran away.

Cogbill Road. At about 1:45 p.m. on Oct. 16, someone phoned in a bomb threat to Meadowbrook High School in the 4900 block. Police arrived within minutes and found no bomb. Classes were not disrupted and, at press time, police continue to investigate.

Colony Crossing. Between 3:55 a.m. and 5:05 a.m. on Oct. 17, someone used a piece of concrete to shatter the front window of the Fortune Bowl in the 2400 block and stole money, office equipment, electronics and other property.

Genito Road. Between 3:55 a.m. and 5:05 a.m. on Oct. 17, someone used a brick to break out a window of China Wong in the 13600 block. The suspects did not enter the establishment.

Handley Road. Between 6 p.m. on Oct. 14 and 9 a.m. on Oct. 15, someone entered a home under construction in the 3400 block and stole a soaking tub and two fiberglass shower units.

Hogan’s Alley. Just after 11 p.m. on Oct. 14, as a victim tried to unlock a door to his home, someone pushed him down and grabbed his laptop bag, then ran toward the street where a second suspect stood beside a vehicle. Both suspects got into the car, which was driven by a third suspect, and the car left the area. The suspects got away with cash and other property.

Hull Street Road. At about 1:30 a.m. on Oct. 16, someone was seen brandishing a handgun at a convenience store in the 7000 block.

• At about 2:30 a.m. on Oct. 17, someone used rocks to break through the front doors of a Subway store and Domino's Pizza shop in the 14800 block and stole cash.

Meadwood Circle. Between 1:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. on Oct. 17, someone broke into a home in the 5900 block and stole firearms, electronics and other property.

Melba Street. At about 4:05 a.m. on Oct. 17, someone fired shots at a home in the 2300 block, damaging the victims’ vehicle, front door and siding on the house. No shots penetrated the house

Pocoshock Boulevard. Between 5 p.m. on Oct. 16 and 7:40 a.m. on Oct. 19, someone broke into Chesterfield Family Practice in the 2500 block, rummaged through the office and stole electronics.

Rittenhouse Drive. At about 4:20 a.m. on Oct. 17, someone used a rock to smash a window of the ABC store in the 13100 block and stole consumable goods.

Waterford Place. Between 11 p.m. on Oct. 16 and 5:30 a.m. on Oct. 17, someone broke into Chang Sheng in the 13500 block and stole cash and other property.
