For 10k success, join the YMCA training team Planning to run in the Ukrop’s Monument Avenue 10k? Consider training with the YMCA 10k training team. The team provides a format for members to complete a training program and lays the groundwork for a regular routine of physical fitness. During the 10-week program, which begins on Saturday, Jan. 16, participants will receive a detailed written schedule tailored to their ability level, guidance from experienced coaches, weekly group runs/walks on Saturday mornings, a YMCA training team T-shirt, entry in the Ukrop’s Monument Avenue 10k and special clinics on subjects such as running shoes, nutrition and what to expect on race day.
