Photo courtesy of Pam Barton On Thursday, May 27, at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m., the Specialty Center for the Arts at Thomas Dale High School will present “Art is Freedom,” a multidisciplinary work focusing on the creative process. This collaborative event features original artwork created by gifted art students in the program, music by Jonathan Warren, choreography by Natalie Barisano and monologues by Alex Damrath.
“Art is Freedom” will begin with a discussion by the artists about the creative and collaborative process, followed by a performance of the original artwork. With this performance, Thomas Dale and its visual and performing arts students unite the different departments within the specialty center, as well as educate attendees about how artists create work and why the arts are valuable in education.
Tickets are $5 and will be available at the door. Senior citizens, children 5 years old and younger and Chesterfield County Public Schools staff with a county ID will be admitted free.
