Shooting suspect arrested

Vance A teen has been arrested in connection with a shooting that injured another teen in Rockwood Park on Courthouse Road on July 20.

Matthew D. Vance, 18, of the 3400 block of Newby’s Bridge Road, was arrested without incident during a traffic stop at about 12:30 a.m. on July 21. He is charged with malicious wounding, discharge of a firearm in a public place, use or display of a firearm in the commission of a felony and possession of marijuana. He is being held without bond in the county jail pending upcoming hearings.
