Dinner out between friends ends badly

Gwen Sadler

Once dinner is over and the evening is coming to an end, it’s often wise to go home rather than stand around the parking lot, as a couple of people found out recently.

The victims had finished their meal at the Golden Corral restaurant in the 3700 block of South Providence Road and were talking in the parking lot at about 11 p.m. on Aug. 9 when they noticed two people they didn’t know walking in a circle around them. Suddenly the suspects drew their guns and demanded the victims hand over their purses. After the suspects got the handbags, they ran to a vehicle and raced away. They got away with cash, electronics and other property contained in the purses.

Anyone with information about this robbery should contact the Chesterfield County Police Department at 748-1251 or Crime Solvers at 748-0660 or text the code tip699 with the tip and send to 274637 (CRIMES).
