Silent auction and golf tournament to benefit cancer center
      Two events are scheduled as part of the Fifth Annual Highlands-Massey Classic to benefit VCU-Massey Cancer Center’s breast, head and throat cancer research and treatment. A dinner and silent auction will be held at The Highlands, 8136 Highland Glen Drive, on Saturday, Sept. 11, with cocktails beginning at 6 p.m. and dinner at 7:15 p.m.

Car crashes keep first responders on the move

      Four vehicles slammed into each other on Jessup Road near Iron Bridge Road on Aug. 31 around 7:30 a.m., denting up all the vehicles involved. Traffic on Jessup Road was a nightmare, and motorist assistance was dispatched to help county police with traffic control.
