PUBLIC NOTICE

Chesterfield County Airport Richmond, VA AIRPORT MASTER PLAN UPDATE - PUBLIC OPEN HOUSE

The County of Chesterfield, Virginia, as owner and operator of the Chesterfield County Airport, will be holding a public information Open House on November 22nd, 2010 beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the Airport Terminal Building, 7511 Airfield Drive, Richmond, Virginia 23237. The general public is invited to visit with the airport staff and consultants to discuss the projects’ purpose and need, alternative evaluation, environmental overview, and other project related questions. Comments and suggestions received during the evening will be evaluated by the project team and incorporated into the study as appropriate. The proposed improvements are intended to achieve compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) safety regulations and to meet the existing and projected aviation needs of the region. Upon completion of the Airport Master Plan Update and approval of the Airport Layout Plan by the FAA and Virginia Department of Aviation (DOAV), an Environmental Assessment will be prepared to evaluate the proposed projects.

An Ordinance to amend the Code of the County of Chesterfield, 1997, as amended, by amending and re-enacting Section 18- 61, to allow the Board of Supervisors to grant an exception to the mandatory use of the public utility system for new residential structures which require an on-site service line of more than 400 feet.

A copy of the amendment is on file in the County Administrator’s Office and the Clerk to the Board’s Office (Room 504) at the Chesterfield County Administration Building, Chesterfield, Virginia, for public examination between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. of each regular business day. ENHANCEMENT PROJECTS

Take notice that the County Administrator has submitted a recommended FY2011- 2012 Transportation Enhancement Program to the Board of Supervisors. The Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing at its regular meeting on November 17, 2010, at 6:30 p.m. in the County Public Meeting Room at the Chesterfield Government Complex, at 10031 Iron Bridge Road, Chesterfield, Virginia, to consider the program. Thecounty intends to apply for funds allocated by the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) for the Program.

Activities of the VDOT Transportation Enhancement Program include: • Pedestrian and bicycle facilities • Pedestrian and bicycle safety and education • Acquisition of scenic easement and scenic or historic sites • Scenic or historic highway programs including tourist and welcome centers • Landscaping and scenic beautification • Historic preservation • Rehabilitation and operation of historic transportation buildings, structures, or facilities • Preservation of abandoned railway corridors, including the conversion and use of the corridors for pedestrian or bicycle trails • Inventory, control and removal of outdoor advertising • Archaeological planning and research • Environmental mitigation to address highway runoff or reduce vehicle-caused wildlife mortality • Establishment of transportation museums

Citizens who would like to comment on the county’s proposed Transportation Enhancement Program are encouraged to send their comments in writing to the Transportation Department, Chesterfield County, P.O. Box 40, Chesterfield, VA 23832, Attention: R. J. McCracken.

A copy of the proposed program is on file in the Transportation Department, Room 201 at the Community Development Building, 9800 Government Center Parkway, 3rd Floor, Chesterfield, VA 23832 and may be examined by all interested persons between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The hearing is held at a public facility designed to be accessible to persons with disabilities.
