Neighbors foil robbery attempt

Gwen Sadler

Observant neighbors with a willingness to get involved in a dangerous situation may keep things from getting even more perilous, as one man recently learned.

At 12:08 a.m. on Dec. 3, a man was approached by two armed strangers after he got out of his vehicle and was heading toward his apartment in the 700 block of Boulder Springs Drive in the Birchwood at Boulders Apartments. The man tried to flee, but was assaulted by the suspects. Nearby residents witnessed the commotion and shouted that they were calling police, distracting the suspects. The victim was able to get away, and the suspects fled.

Anyone with information about this crime should contact the Chesterfield County Police Department at 748-1251 or Crime Solvers at 748-0660 or text the code tip699 with the tip and send to 274637 (CRIMES).
