CRIME WATCH

Michael Buettner

Armed robber’s getaway is short-lived

Making a clean getaway is probably the most important part of committing a successful robbery. Walking straight to your own home with your ill-gotten booty is probably not the best getaway plan.

According to a Jan. 28 report, two suspects approached a resident of the Bermuda Run Apartments in the 2600 block of Mangowood Drive around 2:40 p.m. One suspect displayed a firearm.

The pair stole an electronic device and miscellaneous items from the victim. Then they fled, according to the report – to a nearby apartment.

One suspect was quickly arrested, and some of the stolen items were recovered. The identity of the second suspect remains unknown.
