Nothing stolen in pair of home invasions

A pair of county residents suffered through home invasion-type incidents recently, but in both cases the perpetrators left empty-handed.

• Three unknown suspects kicked in the front door of an apartment in the 4000 block of Hailey Crescent Drive in the Genito Glen apartments around 11:35 p.m. on Feb. 20. They held a resident at gunpoint and demanded money. However, the suspects fled the scene without stealing anything. No injuries were reported.

• A known suspect entered a home without permission and brandished a handgun in the 4000 block of Bronholly Road in the Belmont Hills subdivision around 6:05 p.m. on Feb. 22. No shots were fired and no injuries were reported.

In other crimes:

Brandermill (Brandermill Parkway) – An unspecified vehicle was reported stolen from the parking lot of the Brandermill Country Club in the 3700 block on Feb. 22. The vehicle was later recovered within the county.

Brighton Green (Brantley Road) – An unspecified vehicle was reported stolen from a home in the 700 block on Feb. 23. The vehicle was later found in a ditch in Henrico County.

Chester (West Hundred Road) – Unknown suspect(s) tried unsuccessfully to steal copper pipes from the crawl space under the Chester Village Office Condominium Association in the 3600 block on Feb. 23.

Colonial Pine Estates (Colonnade Drive) – Unknown suspect(s) broke into a home in the 3700 block on Feb. 21 and stole firearms, cash and jewelry.

Huntingcreek Hills (Retriever Road) – Unknown suspect(s) stole copper pipes from the crawl space under a home in the 5800 block on Feb. 21.

Indian Springs (Inca Drive) – A black 2008 Kia SUV was reported stolen from a home in the 4200 block on Feb. 21.

Ivystone at Southbend (Kilt Drive) – Unknown suspect(s) stole a heat pump from the attic of a house under construction in the 200 block on Feb. 23.

Jefferson Davis Highway – Henderson Texaco in the 7400 block reported on Feb. 19 that unknown suspect(s) broke out the window on the service bay door to gain entrance to the business, then ransacked the inside and stole miscellaneous items.

• A known suspect entered the Car Stop convenience store in the 7400 block around 11:55 a.m. on Feb. 25. The suspect brandished a firearm and handed the clerks a bag. The clerks put money in the bag and the suspect left. He was arrested a short time later at his home.

Quail Oaks (Dawnshire Road) – An unspecified number of possible known suspects broke into a classroom trailer at Bellwood Elementary School in the 9500 block on Feb. 22 and vandalized the inside. Nothing was reported stolen.

Rowanty Court (Dupuy Road) – A resident of the Rowanty Court Apartments in the 3100 block was robbed at gunpoint by an unspecified number of suspects around 4 p.m. on Feb. 20. The suspects fled in the victim’s green 1998 Infiniti. Cash and electronic devices were also reported stolen.

Tanglewood Apartments (Lingstorm Lane) – A resident of the 400 block saw one unknown suspect and heard another trying to enter his apartment through the front door around 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 22. The resident turned on the porch light and the suspects fled. No entry was made and nothing was reported stolen.

Walton Park (Glenpark Lane) – A silver 2003 Honda was reported stolen from a home in the 700 block on Feb. 20.

Winchester Green (Avalon Heights Road) – Unknown suspect(s) broke out the glass in a back door to enter an apartment in the 2700 block on Feb. 22. The suspect(s) vandalized the inside and stole electronic devices.

Woodpecker Road – Unknown suspect(s) broke into a home in the 5200 block on Feb. 20 by kicking in the back door. Firearms and miscellaneous items were reported stolen.
