Thieves get inside houses without leaving obvious marks

Michael Buettner

It’s hard to imagine anything more unsettling than returning home and finding signs that someone was in your house during your absence, though there’s no obvious sign of a break-in. Two county residents recently had that experience:

• A home in the 6400 block of Dalebrook Drive was entered by unknown suspect(s) via an unknown entry point on Jan. 7. A rear window had been tampered with and a rear door that had been locked was found unlocked. Electronic devices were reported stolen.

• A resident of a unit in the Pocoshock Townhouses in the 1400 block of Poco Drive returned on Jan. 11 to find two bedrooms unlocked that had been left locked. The window blinds had been left down but were found raised. Firearms, clothing and electronic devices were reported stolen.
