Owner unsure how weapon went missing

Michael Buettner

The Chesterfield County Police Department stresses that its daily media report, from which Crime Watch is compiled, is a snapshot of reported criminal incidents on a given day and is not a definitive, final summary of crime in the county. In some cases, for example, further investigation may reveal that no crime occurred – something that appears to be a possibility in this case:

• A firearm was reported missing by a resident of the 2700 block of Executive Drive in the John Tyler Woods subdivision off Jefferson Davis Highway on Jan. 29. The owner reported that the weapon might have been stolen from the center console of his unlocked vehicle, or he might just have misplaced it.

Anyone who has information about this incident or any other crime is asked to call Crime Solvers at 748-0660. You can also submit a tip at or text WATSON plus your tip to 274637 (CRIMES).
