Apartment, condo complexes hit by car thieves

Michael Buettner

Car thefts are nothing new to Crime Watch, unfortunately. However, there does seem to have been an unusual rash of auto thefts from multifamily complexes in the county recently:

• A gray/ silver 2005 Nissan was reported stolen from outside a Meadowbrook Apartments unit in the 5400 block of Markview Lane on March 21.

• A red 2012 Nissan was reported stolen on March 25 from outside a townhouse at Newberry Towne in the 2900 block of Ennismore Court.

• An unspecified vehicle was reported stolen from outside a unit of the Squire Hill Apartments in the 4100 block of Lamplighter Court on March 26.

• A known suspect stole an unspecified vehicle from outside a unit of the Bellwood Maisonettes in the 2400 block of Alfalfa Lane off Jefferson Davis Highway on March 27. The vehicle was later set on fire.

Anyone who has information about these incidents or any other crime is asked to call Crime Solvers at 748-0660. You can also submit a tip at www.crimesolvers.net or text WATSON plus your tip to 274637 (CRIMES).
