Kids to take over Pocahontas State Park: music, reptiles, free hot dogs

Pocahontas State Park will offer special child-friendly activities on Saturday, May 16, as part of National Kids to Parks Day. Visitors that day will also receive a coupon for free parking later in the year.

The events start at 10 a.m. and continue until 6 p.m. and include visits to the Nature Center, scavenger hunts and hikes, live presentations of birds of prey and reptiles and musical performances. Free hot dogs will be provided by the Friends of Pocahontas State Park.

All activities are free of charge, but the vehicle parking fee will apply when entering the park, located at 10301 State Park Road, Chesterfield.
