Arsonists hit county schools

CRIME WATCH

Young arsonists hit two county schools earlier this month.

A 15-year-old female student set toilet paper on fire inside two bathrooms at Monacan High School on June 3. The school resource officer completed a juvenile criminal complaint for burning/destroying a public building and requested a juvenile petition.

On June 6, toilet paper rolls were set on fire in Thomas Dale High School’s field house bathroom. The sinks and toilets were also clogged. At press time, no one had been charged in this matter.

In other crimes:

Ashbrook (Twisted Cedar Drive) – Clothing, household goods, jewelry and other items were stolen during the burglary of a home in the 15900 block sometime before 8:45 a.m. on June 7.

Fern Hollow Drive – Various items were stolen during the burglary of a home in the 7800 block sometime before 7 p.m. on June 2.

Ashley Village (Sexton Drive) – A light blue 1997 Jeep SUV was stolen from the 6400 block sometime before 1 a.m. on June 7.

Berwick Village (Leadenhall Drive) – A vehicle parked in the 4700 block was vandalized sometime before 9 p.m. on June 5.

Cameron Hills (Koyoto Court) – Money, electronics and other items were stolen during the burglary of a home in the 700 block sometime before 8 p.m. on June 1.

Chipchase at Mineola (Crofton Court) – A nonfatal heroin overdose was reported in the 10900 block around 10:30 a.m. on June 2.

Crystal Lakes Townhouses (Planet Road) – Someone attempted to commit a strong-arm robbery in the 6400 block around 4 p.m. on June 7.

Courthouse Green (Gategreen Drive) – A nonfatal heroin overdose was reported in the 6300 block around 3:40 p.m. on June 7.

Deer Run (Key Deer Drive) – Clothing, consumable goods and other items were stolen from a home in the 14300 block sometime before 1 a.m. on June 6.

Velvet Antler Drive – Consumable goods were stolen during the burglary of a home in the 7500 block sometime before 7:40 p.m. on June 4.

Hancock Village Drive – Electronics were stolen during the armed robbery of Game Stop in the 7300 block around 3:20 p.m. on June 6.

Hull Street Road – Consumable goods were shoplifted from A+ Exxon in the 7100 block sometime before 11:20 a.m. on June 7.

Iron Bridge Place – Someone attempted to pass a fraudulent check at Arco Iris Latino Market in the 6500 block around midnight on May 21.

Meadowbrook Manor (Applewood Road) – Clothing was stolen from a vehicle parked in the 3700 block sometime before 1:35 a.m. on June 7.

Meadow Oaks (English Oak Court) – Clothing, money, electronics and other items were stolen from a vehicle parked in the 5800 block sometime before midnight on June 7.

Midlothian Turnpike – Household goods, electronics and other items were embezzled from Sears in the 11500 block sometime before 2 p.m. on May 18.

Money was embezzled from Sears in the 11500 block sometime before 5 p.m. on May 2.

A hit-and-run was reported at SunTrust Bank in the 10300 block around 11:15 p.m. on June 4.

Reeds Hill (Summerhurst Drive) – A fatal heroin overdose was reported in the 2900 block around 9 p.m. on May 31.

Ridgefield (Moorwood Ridge Drive) – A firearm was stolen during the burglary of a home in the 100 block sometime before 11 p.m. on May 29.

Salem Church Road – Money and other items were stolen from Salem Church Middle School in the 9700 block sometime before noon on June 6.

A red 2011 Chevrolet four-door vehicle was stolen from the 9700 block sometime before 3 p.m. on June 3.

Settlers Landing (Knollwood Drive) – A gray 2008 Nissan four-door vehicle was stolen from the 1800 block sometime before 10 p.m. on June 4.

Shenandoah (Redbridge Road) – A firearm and other items were stolen from a vehicle parked in the 9700 block sometime before noon on May 15.

Smoketree Drive – Monacan High School in the 11500 block was vandalized sometime before 5 p.m. on June 3.

Stone Village Way – Someone attempted to pass a forged prescription at Wegmans Food Market in the 12500 block around 2:50 p.m. on June 3.

Sycamore Square – Consumable goods were embezzled from Crab Louie’s Seafood Tavern in the 1300 block sometime before 1 p.m. on May 13.

Victoria Hills (Grantshire Road) – A mailbox was vandalized in the 4300 block sometime before 4 p.m. on June 1.

Walmart Way – Consumable goods were shoplifted from Wal-Mart in the 900 block sometime before 8 a.m. on June 7.

Walthall Center Drive – Electronics were stolen from a vehicle belonging to Priority Toyota in the 2000 block sometime before 8 a.m. on May 25.

Weir Road – A red 2002 Ford fourdoor vehicle was stolen from the 2500 block sometime before 9:30 p.m. on June 4.
